Kleine ganz groß SKIZZENBUCH

Seit Jahren trage ich postkartengroße Skizzenbücher mit mir herum, in denen ich alles festhalte, das mir in den Kopf kommt´ oder ins Auge sticht´. Dieses Sammelsurium ist höchst privat und nicht an Vorzeigbarkeit orientiert. Es erfüllt allein den Zweck einer Erinnerungs- und Denkhilfe. Dennoch sind einige Einträge und Seiten von einer Frische und Direktheit, die sie ästhetisch macht.
Die Zeichnungen und Aufschriebe sind im Original wenige Zentimeter klein. Gedruckt auf einer Größe von 42x60 cm kommt die Qualität des Strichs zum Vorschein, die ohne diese `Lupenfunktion´ unsichtbar bleibt. Ähnlich dem Gesang einer Amsel, der in der verlangsamten Tonwiedergabe einen Variationsreichtum hörbar macht, der sich dem menschlichen Ohr sonst nicht erschließt.

SKETCH BOOK
For years I have been carrying around postcard-sized sketchbooks in which I record everything that 'pops into my head' or 'catches my eye'. This hodgepodge is highly private and not oriented towards presentability. Its sole purpose is to serve as an aid to memory and thought. Nevertheless, some entries and pages are of a freshness and directness that makes them aesthetic.
The original drawings and notes are a few centimeters small. Printed on a size of 42x60 cm, the quality of the stroke comes out, which without this 'magnifying glass' remains invisible. Similar to the song of a blackbird, which, in the slowed sound reproduction makes a richness of variation audible, that is otherwise not accessible to the human ear.
