ÜBER ZEICHNUNG

Wenn mir ein Bild Schrift anbietet stürze ich mich zuerst auf die Buchstaben. Ich verbinde damit die Hoffnung eine verlässliche Information zu bekommen. Während ich lese fließen die visuellen Element auf einer anderen Ebene in mich und verankern die eigentliche Bildinformation. Das ist die Information, die langfristig bei mir hängenbleibt. Die Wirkung der Bildelemente entspricht damit nicht meiner Erwartung an sie.
Diese Serie ist der Versuch, den Informationsgehalt von Bild und Schrift auf Augenhöhe zu bringen, ohne dass die Schrift ihren Lesecharakter und das Bild seinen Betrachtungscharakter verliert.

When a picture offers me writing, I rush to the letters first. I have the hope to get a reliable information. While I am reading, the visual elements flow into me on another level and anchor the deeper information of the image. This is the information that remains for me in the long run. With this the impact of the visual elements does not match with my expectation I have of them.
This series is an attempt to bring the information content of image and writing to eye level, without the writing losing its reading character and the image its viewing character.
