Kleider sind für mich eine bildnerische oder skulpturale Notwendigkeit. Je schlichter sie geschnitten sind, desto stärker wird ihre Bildfähigkeit. Je raffinierter der Schnitt ist, desto ausgeprägter ist ihr skulpturaler Charakter. Die Wickelröcke sind um den Körper gewickelte Bilder. Sie schmücken ihn und degradieren ihn heimlich zum tragenden Assistenten ihrer selbst. Gleichzeitig dienen sie ihm, indem sie ihn warm halten.
Die Wickelbilder haben sich fortgesetzt in einer Hommage an Sophie Taeuber-Arp.
WRAP IMAGES
Clothes are for me a pictorial or sculptural necessity. The plainer their cut is, the stronger becomes their pictorial ability. The more sophisticated the cutting is, the more pronounced is their sculptural character. The wrap skirts are images wrapped around the body. They adorn it and secretly degrade it into a wearing assistant to themselves. At the same time they serve him by keeping him warm.
